The captions beneath each image were the full extent of the instructions given to the AI. The AI facility suggests several options to which you can then apply some selection and refinement. But basically images are an artificial creation from the silicon brain.
Both the abilities and some limitations of the AI are immediately striking. As with a human artist, it has its own style which is recognisable, although not necessarily recognisable as artificial. As with a human artist, it apparently ignores some things and emphasises others. No doubt we will see this capability develop at an incredible pace. Exciting or sinister? Probably both.
